Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our custom foam products and services.
What do you do?
We design and CNC-cut custom foam inserts so your rifle, pistol, suppressor, optics, mags, and gear fit clean and don’t rattle around.
Do I have to buy a case for every gun?
No. We recommend buying one case, and multiple foam inserts for whatever guns you have or whatever scenarios meet your shooting storage requirements.
What cases do you support?
Most major hard cases and many soft cases. If you know your case model, great. If not, we can cut from internal dimensions.
Do I have to ship you my case or firearm?
No. We build from measurements and photos. Do not ship firearms to us for fitting.
What info do you need from me?
- Case model or internal length × width × depth
- List of what you want stored
- A top-down photo of the items (phone pic is fine)
- Best results: include measurements for long guns and suppressors with attachments installed.
Can you cut for a rifle with an optic, bipod, light, sling, etc.?
Yes. Measure and photograph the rifle as you actually run it. That’s what we design around.
How tight is the fit?
Tight enough to prevent movement, not so tight you need to wrestle it out. If you want it looser (easy grab with gloves), tell us.
Can you add finger pulls / grab points?
Yes. Finger pulls and lift points are optional and recommended for tight layouts.
Can you do a two-layer / two-color insert (the “reveal” look)?
Yes. Two-color foam looks sharp and makes missing gear obvious at a glance.
What foam do you use?
Closed-cell foam (the durable kind), not crumbly “pluck” foam. Closed-cell holds up better and resists moisture.
Is it good for hunting and dusty/dirty use?
Yes. Closed-cell foam is tougher and easier to wipe down than open-cell or pick-and-pluck foam.
Will it protect optics and finishes?
That’s the point—secure fit, controlled contact, less shifting. If you’ve got a delicate finish or an unusual setup, mention it so we can build in the right clearances.
Can you replicate or improve an insert I already have?
Often, yes. Send photos and measurements (or the case model) and we’ll tell you what’s possible.
Can I approve the layout before you cut?
Yes—custom layouts get a confirmation step so there are no surprises.
What’s the lead time?
Depends on the season and how complex your layout is. We’ll give you a realistic estimate when you order.
Do you offer rush orders?
Sometimes. If you have a match, trip, or hunt deadline, contact us and we’ll tell you straight whether we can hit it.
What if my measurements are wrong and it doesn’t fit?
If the measurements are off, we can usually recut at a reduced cost. If we mess it up, we fix it.
Do you take returns?
Custom foam is made to your specs, so returns are limited. If there’s a defect or we cut it wrong, we’ll replace it.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. We ship across the U.S. with tracking.
Why not just buy pick-and-pluck foam?
Because it tears, loosens up, and looks rough. CNC-cut closed-cell foam lasts longer and holds gear better.
How much does a custom insert cost?
Pricing depends on case size, foam type (single vs multi-layer / two-color), and layout complexity. If you want a fast quote, send your case model and what you’re storing.
